AbleSuite Pro

Max for Live

Edit any clip in Melodyne, Revoice Pro, VocAlign, RX or any editor — without leaving Ableton. It comes back on the same track, in the same place.

Max for Live Ableton Live 11 / 12 macOS Arrangement view

Before you buy — please read

This has only been tested on Melodyne 5, Revoice Pro 5.1.32 and 4.4.4.1, and VocAlign 6.1.32 Standard. I am working on testing more systems, but if you don’t specifically own one of those, please don’t buy yet — wait for it to be supported.

This is still really new software and I’ll be updating it as I can. Please be understanding: I’m not a big software company, I’m just one guy making some tools in between mixing records. If you’re unsure, please don’t buy — I can’t issue refunds.

Melodyne over ARA

Note-by-note tuning right inside Ableton — live and non-destructive.

Revoice Pro or VocAlign

One alignment slot, two engines — pick whichever you own in the gear pane and it stays picked. Revoice Pro 4 and 5 both work: AbleSuite Pro reads the version you have installed and drives it accordingly, so there is nothing to set. The guide, dub and process controls live in a floating window that stays on top of Live.

VocAlign runs inside the device

Ableton has no ARA, so AbleSuite Pro hosts VocAlign itself — no separate application to open, nothing to locate. Works with VocAlign 6 (Standard or Ultra) and the older Ultra and Pro. VocAlign Project ships no ARA build, so it can’t be hosted.

Hear the alignment before you print it

Capturing a dub runs the alignment in Revoice Pro right then, so it’s sitting there waiting. Add warp markers, retime by hand, then press process — what you hear is what lands in Live.

RX & any editor

Hand any clip to iZotope RX, WaveLab, or any editor that saves a WAV — and back.

Nothing is destroyed

Your original stays safe on a take lane; the edit lands in the same spot.

Key-mappable

Map every button to a key and work without touching the mouse.

It tells you when something is missing

If a slot reports an editor as not installed, the gear pane writes a Diagnostics report showing every place AbleSuite Pro looked — so you can see what is actually missing instead of guessing.

What you need

macOS, and Ableton Live 11 or 12 with Max for Live — placing edits back needs Live 12.0.5 or newer. Works on clips in the Arrangement view.

Tempo maps: one limitation

AbleSuite Pro currently describes your session to the editor as a single tempo and time signature. On a set that changes tempo, the editor’s grid won’t line up — it shows most in Melodyne, which draws one. Your audio is safe: capture, edit and placement stay sample-accurate. Sets at one fixed tempo are unaffected, and full tempo-map support is being researched.

Bring your own editors

No third-party licences are included — you must already own Melodyne, Revoice Pro, VocAlign, iZotope RX, etc. for this to work. Activate them first: an editor that hasn’t been activated can stop on its own licensing window, which looks like AbleSuite Pro hanging.

Build progressions fast

In Arrangement, each chord advances the insert point by one clip length — click I–V–vi–IV and it lands in a row.
